We will be staying in restored 17th century Tuscan Villa, set on  90 hectares surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. The villa is located within Tuscany in the beautiful San Gimignano area that offers the natural, historical and culinary characteristics typical of the picture-perfect Chianti region. It lends itself perfectly for a group of writers, with ample indoor living spaces as well as an expansive outdoor space for walks, poolside relaxation, or writing and dining under the alfresco.

For writers wanting to explore surrounding towns and sights, Sciano, Barberino Val E'elsa, and Certaldo are all within close proximity (less than 6km) from the villa, with San Gimignano the ideal location for a day trip. Writers may also like to visit the nearby medieval hamlet of S. Appiano and Linari or the small and charming village of Petrognano with ruins of the town of Semifonte which was destroyed in 1202 by the Florentine.

The Kitchen // La Cucina

A delightful rustic kitchen that lends itself to socialising while cooking. Food (mangiare) is such a big part of the Italian culture, and it forms a major part of how Italians socialise. So be ready to embrace this side of things during our week away. You'll have the option of preparing meals at home with the group or dining out, but expect to enjoy your time around the dinner table. Good food, good wine, good company!
